Job Summary:

Seinde Signature is a world class fragrance retail company that specialises in niche fragrances. We were established as an enterprise in 2020 and turned into a LLC in 2023. The brand includes a fragrance EXPERIENCE STUDIO, the first of its kind in Nigeria and Africa, that offers a selection of the rarest and most sophisticated perfumes in the world and a retail chain called Salon de Parfum. We also sell our products to wholesale customers. Our priority is client satisfaction and our focus is NICHE fragrances, we are known to be a platform for creative and innovative fragrances.

The Finance Controller is responsible for leading and overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls across all branches.

The role will drive financial strategy, safeguard company assets, optimize cash flow, and deliver insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial records
• Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and closing processes
• Enforce proper accounting policies in line with applicable standards (IFRS/local GAAP)
• Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and financial reports
• Experience in handling fundraising.

Financial Control & Compliance

• Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, including audit preparation and responses.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to company financial policies.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, fraud, and leakages.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

• Oversee cash flow planning, forecasting, and liquidity management
• Manage banking relationships and optimize treasury operations.
• Ensure effective management of working capital (receivables, payables, inventory).
• Approve payments and monitor expenditure in line with budgets.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

• Lead the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
• Support strategic planning with financial modeling and scenario analysis
• Drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives

Business & Financial Analysis:

• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to management
• Prepare management reports and dashboards for decision-making
• Evaluate profitability by branch, product, and channel
• Support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and cost control

Retail & Inventory Management:

• Reconcile Shopify sales with inventory and accounting records
• Monitor stock movements and investigate discrepancies
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems to minimize shrinkage
• Track branch-level profitability and operational efficiency
• Ensure proper documentation and approval processes for discounts, returns, and refunds.

Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead, supervise, and develop the finance and accounting team
• Set performance goals and conduct periodic reviews
• Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
• Provide training on financial systems and policies

Systems & Process Improvement:

• Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows
• Drive automation and digitization of finance processes
• Ensure data integrity across financial and operational systems
• Collaborate with IT and operations to enhance system integration

Stakeholder & Management Support:

• Act as a key financial advisor to senior management
• Present financial reports and insights to leadership
• Support business expansion, investments, and strategic initiatives
• Liaise with external stakeholders (auditors, tax authorities, banks, consultants.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN) required.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Experience in retail, FMCG, or multi-branch operations is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
