Finance Manager

Job Purpose

To manage and control the hotel’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, statutory compliance, budgetary discipline, and effective financial support to hotel management and business operations.

Key Accountabilities

A. Financial Management & Reporting

• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations in line with Marriott and local requirements.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing, financial statements, and management reports.
• Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
• Provide meaningful financial analysis and recommendations to the DOF/management.

B. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support preparation of annual budget, forecasts, and business plans.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and identify significant variances.
• Work closely with HODs to improve cost control and financial performance.

C. Internal Controls & Compliance

• Ensure effective financial controls over revenue, purchasing, inventory, payroll, cash, and payments.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott policies, hotel SOPs, Bangladesh tax/VAT regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Support internal, external, and corporate audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.

D. Revenue, Cost & Cash Management

• Monitor daily revenue and ensure proper recording and reconciliation of all income streams.
• Oversee cash management, bank reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Monitor food & beverage, rooms, payroll, and other operating costs to ensure appropriate controls.

E. Team & Business Partnership

• Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team to maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and service.
• Partner with operational departments to strengthen financial awareness and cost management.
• Provide financial guidance to management for business decisions and operational improvements.

F. Marriott & Hotel Standards

• Ensure compliance with Marriott International finance policies, systems, controls, and reporting requirements.
• Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and professional conduct.
• Support the DOF and hotel leadership in achieving financial and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or related field 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, taxation, VAT, and internal controls.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
