Finance Manager

Details Management Ltd., on behalf of Geneva Re Ltd., is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Finance Manager. Geneva Re is a Bermuda-based Class 3A insurer specializing in property, casualty and specialty reinsurance. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing accounting, reporting, and systems processes for the Company.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as finance partner for one of Geneva Re’s three business units and primary contact for contract, accounting, reserving and planning matters.
• Prepare management accounts and variance analysis.
• Assist with annual budget and periodic reforecast.
• Prepare annual US GAAP financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual Bermuda regulatory filings and ensure compliance with applicable Bermuda law and regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, process documentation and controls over financial reporting, including appropriate US GAAP accounting for underwriting transactions.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for automation with a focus on the integrity of the financial data, processes, and controls.
• Coordinate with auditors, affiliated entities, stakeholders and third-party service providers to deliver Finance priorities on time.
• Assess the accounting, reporting and operational implications of new transactions and strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent designation, with at least five years’ relevant experience in reinsurance, insurance, audit or financial and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with P&C reinsurance, gained in industry or audit, with exposure to technical accounting, management reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and Bermuda regulatory filings.
• Strong, current knowledge of US GAAP and BSCR.
• Excellent analytical, review and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, Board-ready materials.
• Proven ability to develop automation processes
• Advanced MS Excel skills and the ability to navigate complex spreadsheets.
