2. Role Purpose

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the business, ensuring accurate and timely accounting, financial reporting, cash-flow management, budgeting & analysis.

The role will work closely with Operations, Commercial, Sales, Procurement and Senior Management to ensure strong financial controls, timely closure of jobs, effective working-capital management and improved profitability.

The position will have a strong focus on Accounting, Reporting and Finance Management.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. ACCOUNTING

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including revenue, expenses, payables, provisions and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Ensure timely booking of vendor invoices, operational expenses and accruals.
• Monitor and ensure timely closure of logistics jobs with all revenue and cost components captured.
• Review and reconcile vendor accounts on a regular basis.
• Ensure proper accounting of advances, deposits, prepaid expenses and other balance-sheet items.
• Ensure appropriate provisions and accruals are created at month-end.
• Coordinate with Operations to identify unbilled revenue, pending costs and incomplete jobs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies and internal controls.
• Support improvement of ERP processes.

B. FINANCIAL REPORTING & MIS

• Manage the monthly financial closing process and ensure timely closure of books.
• Prepare and review monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Prepare branch/product/customer-wise profitability reports.
• Prepare monthly MIS covering key financial indicators:
• Conduct variance analysis and identify significant deviations from budget/forecast.
• Provide meaningful financial insights to management rather than only reporting numbers.
• Prepare management dashboards and presentations for periodic management reviews.
• Monitor key financial KPIs and highlight risks requiring management intervention.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and periodic business plans.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required schedules and supporting information.

C. COST & PROFITABILITY MANAGEMENT

• Monitor operational costs and identify areas for cost optimization.
• Analyse customer, branch, products and service-level profitability.
• Review pricing and margins in coordination with Commercial/Sales teams.
• Identify loss-making customers/jobs and highlight corrective actions.
• Support management in improving gross margin and EBITDA.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls over operational expenditure.

D. PAYABLES & WORKING CAPITAL

• Monitor vendor ageing and payment obligations.
• Ensure payments are prioritized based on business requirements, contractual terms and available cash flow.
• Review vendor reconciliations and resolve long-pending differences.
• Monitor advances and ensure timely adjustment.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Operations to ensure proper documentation before payment.
• Optimize the overall Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay cycles.
• Identify opportunities to improve working-capital efficiency.

E. INTERNAL CONTROLS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

• Establish and strengthen financial controls across branches and operations.
• Ensure segregation of duties within finance processes.
• Conduct periodic review of finance processes and identify control gaps.
• Drive automation and reduction of manual processes.
• Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for financial transactions.
• Work with IT/ERP teams to improve financial systems and reporting.

4. Qualifications

Essential:

• CA Inter / B.Com / equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management.
• 7 - 8 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
• Experience in a logistics/transportation/warehousing environment will be an advantage.
• Experience in managing payables, working capital, MIS, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience in ERP is preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹78,000.00 per month
