Finance Manager

Overview

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a UK technology business, for a Finance Manager to take full ownership of its UK finance function. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for a qualified accountant who wants to run the numbers end to end and shape decisions at a high level.

The business

Our client designs, builds and supports pharmacy automation technology. Its dispensing robotics and workflow software help UK pharmacies of all sizes run repeat prescription dispensing faster, safer and at greater scale.

The role

You will be the senior finance voice in the UK, with full responsibility for accounting, reporting, cash, tax, compliance and commercial insight. You will lead the month-end cycle, own the budget and forecast, and give the leadership team numbers they can act on. You will also build the controls, processes and systems that a scaling technology business needs.

What you will do

• Own the full finance cycle and deliver accurate management accounts on a tight monthly timetable
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts and cash flow planning, and report performance against them
• Manage statutory accounts, audit, VAT, corporation tax and all UK compliance
• Partner with sales, operations and leadership on pricing, project profitability and investment cases
• Oversee revenue recognition across hardware, software and support contracts
• Manage inventory, procurement and supplier cost control alongside operations
• Strengthen financial controls and improve systems, reporting and automation
• Lead and develop the finance team and manage relationships with auditors, banks and advisers

What you bring

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Head of Finance, ideally in a technology, equipment, healthcare or other product and service business
• Strong command of UK GAAP, VAT and statutory reporting
• Experience with contract, project or multi-element revenue
• Confident with ERP and cloud accounting systems and advanced Excel
• Commercial, clear communicator who is comfortable challenging at senior level
• Happy to roll up your sleeves in a lean team

The package

Salary of around GBP 65,000, based in Runcorn. Further benefits to be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
