The Finance Manager will lead the Indian accounting function end to end, manage a team of at least 5 accounting professionals, and act as the primary finance point of contact for clients. The role requires strong command of Indian GAAP, GST, TDS and statutory compliance, combined with the leadership to drive team performance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual book closures in line with Indian GAAP and Ind AS, where applicable.
• Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, and profit and loss and balance sheet analysis for clients and management.
• Review journal entries, ledger scrutiny and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Taxation and Statutory Compliance

• Manage GST compliance, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 and input tax credit reconciliation.
• Ensure timely TDS deduction, deposit, return filing and Form 16/16A issuance.
• Coordinate income tax computations, advance tax and filing of returns.
• Ensure compliance with ROC filings and other statutory requirements under the Companies Act.
• Support statutory, internal and tax audits, and act as the point of contact for auditors.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of at least 5 accounting professionals.
• Allocate work, set clear deadlines and monitor delivery across client accounts.
• Review the team's work for accuracy and quality before it reaches clients.
• Drive accountability, discipline and performance through regular reviews and feedback.
• Identify training needs and build the team's technical capability.

Client Management

• Act as the primary finance point of contact for assigned clients.
• Lead client calls and meetings, and present financial reports, compliance status and insights.
• Resolve client queries promptly and manage escalations professionally.
• Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Ensure all client deliverables are met on time and to agreed standards.

Process Improvement

• Strengthen internal controls, SOPs and checklists for accounting and compliance.
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in accounting processes.

Requirements

Qualifications

• CA, CA Inter, CMA or MBA (Finance), or M.Com with strong relevant experience.

Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Indian accounting and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience managing a team of at least 5 members, with a strong record of team control and performance.
• Prior experience in a client-facing finance role, preferably with a CA firm, accounting outsourcing firm or consulting firm.

Technical Skills

• Strong working knowledge of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, GST, TDS, Income Tax and the Companies Act.
• Proficiency in Tally Prime, Zoho Books or SAP, and advanced Excel.
• Experience preparing MIS reports and finalising books of accounts.

Pay: Up to ₹1,400,000.00 per year
