What they need

Rangiora Lifecare | Remote Role (preferably based in Wellington or Christchurch)

Rangiora Lifecare is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to lead our finance function and provide strategic financial support across our organisation.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, managing compliance obligations, and providing trusted financial advice to both management and the Board.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of financial management while contributing to the continued success and sustainability of an organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality care and services to our residents and communities.

About the Role

As Finance Manager, you will have responsibility for the financial management of the Rangiora Lifecare Group, including oversight of multiple entities and support to our facilities Financial Administrators. This is a remote role so applicants must have the ability to work from home. Preferably, they will be based in Wellington or Christchurch so they can meet with the Executive Director in person on occasion but we encourage applicants from anywhere in New Zealand to apply as this is not essential.

Key responsibilities:

·        Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reporting, annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management across the Rangiora Lifecare Group.

·        Ensure compliance with all financial, taxation, audit, and statutory reporting requirements, including year-end financial statements and external audit coordination.

·        Provide commercial insights, financial analysis, and strategic advice to the Board and leadership team to support informed decision-making and business performance.

·        Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, revenue management, debtor oversight, intercompany transactions, and financial controls.

·        Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and reporting to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and organisational performance.

·        Prepare and present financial information for village stakeholders, including AGM reporting and weekly fee forecasting.

About You

You will be a confident and capable finance professional who enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with strategic business partnering.

Experience with Aged Care and Retirement Village accounting is highly preferred.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant accounting or finance qualification.
  • CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or finance role.
  • Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation and financial controls.
  • Experience managing complex financial operations, ideally across multiple entities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems capability.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a meaningful contribution to an organisation that supports elderly New Zealanders.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and the Board.
  • Broad and varied role with significant autonomy and influence.
  • Collaborative, supportive and flexible working environment.
  • Opportunity to drive improvements and contribute to future growth.
