Finance Manager

Your new company

This is a growing and entrepreneurial organisation within the food & beverage and consumer sector, with operations spanning food retail as well as cold-chain and supply activities. Following recent business expansion, the company is strengthening its leadership team and looking for an experienced finance professional to support its next phase of growth.

Your new role

Reporting closely to the owner/founder, you will take ownership of the group's overall accounting and finance function. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will be responsible for both the day-to-day financial operations and broader commercial finance matters.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations across the group, ensuring accurate and timely financial processes.
• Take ownership of the full spectrum of accounting and finance activities.
• Oversee cash flow and working capital management.
• Manage and monitor Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Credit Control.
• Review financial records, transactions and reporting to maintain strong accuracy and financial integrity.
• Strengthen financial controls, compliance and governance across the businesses.
• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, including financing requirements, loans and credit facilities.
• Lead discussions and negotiations relating to financing arrangements.
• Provide financial and commercial insights to support business growth and management decision-making.
• Analyse business performance and communicate the impact of industry trends and market fluctuations to management.
• Remain hands-on with the numbers and operational finance matters while progressively taking on broader finance leadership responsibilities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong hands-on accounting and finance experience, with the ability to independently manage a broad finance portfolio.
• Good understanding of financial reporting, cash flow, working capital, controls and compliance.
• Experience dealing with banking relationships, financing arrangements and cash flow planning.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand and challenge the numbers, rather than simply present financial results.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to connect financial performance with wider business and market conditions.
• Previous exposure to F&B, FMCG, consumer, retail, distribution or related industries would be advantageous.
• A proactive, accountable and hands-on working style.
• Strong communication and business-partnering capabilities.
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
