Finance Manager

Month2Month | Irvine, CA | Full-time, On-site

Reports to: CEO

About Month2Month

Month2Month provides fully furnished single-family homes for corporate relocation, insurance housing, and extended stays across the United States.

As our revenue and geographic footprint expand, we are building a more scalable, technology-driven operating model. We use data, automation, and AI to improve how homes are managed, how customers are served, and how business decisions are made.

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to strengthen our financial operations and become a trusted partner to the CEO.

About the Role

You will own the day-to-day finance function, establish reliable reporting, and help leadership understand profitability, cash flow, and business performance.

This role combines accounting oversight with financial planning and operational analysis. You should be comfortable reviewing transaction details, improving processes, and turning financial data into clear recommendations.

You will coordinate existing accounting support, work with external accounting and tax professionals, and partner closely with operations and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Own the monthly close process and deliver timely, accurate financial reports.
  • Oversee reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the completeness of financial records.
  • Review the treatment of rental revenue, landlord payments, deposits, prepaid expenses, and property-related costs.
  • Coordinate with external professionals on tax filings and accounting matters.

Cash Flow & Controls

  • Build and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast.
  • Monitor collections, overdue balances, upcoming obligations, and working capital needs.
  • Establish practical approval workflows, documentation standards, and financial controls.
  • Define clear responsibilities for internal finance support and external accounting resources.

Property & Business Performance

  • Develop property-level and regional profitability reporting.
  • Analyze occupancy, rental revenue, lease costs, maintenance expenses, and operating margins.
  • Identify underperforming properties and explain the drivers of financial results.
  • Evaluate lease renewals, new property commitments, pricing decisions, and expansion opportunities.

CEO Decision Support

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting, including actual-versus-budget analysis.
  • Prepare concise financial updates with key findings, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Help the CEO assess investment priorities and operating trade-offs.
  • Improve financial systems and reporting through automation and appropriate AI tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Typically 5–8 years of relevant experience, including ownership of monthly close or financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting practices and experience managing cash flow, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
  • Ability to communicate financial issues clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to establish processes in a growing business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in property management, real estate, hospitality, or a business with multiple operating locations.
  • CPA designation or comparable accounting experience.
  • Experience partnering directly with founders or senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with dashboards, system integrations, and finance automation.

What Success Looks Like in Your First 90 Days

  • Establish a dependable monthly close calendar and reporting package.
  • Deliver a rolling cash flow forecast and clear visibility into outstanding receivables.
  • Create an initial property-level profitability report.
  • Clarify finance responsibilities and implement priority process improvements.
  • Give the CEO a clear view of financial performance and actionable business priorities.

Why Join Month2Month?

  • Work directly with the CEO and influence meaningful business decisions.
  • Build the finance function of a growing company with a nationwide footprint.
  • Connect financial analysis with real operational outcomes.
  • Help shape a business adopting technology and AI across property management and furnished rentals.
