Finance Manager

To provide financial governance in a Residential Aged Care Facility

To provide financial managerial and operational direction for a 71 bed residential aged care facility, staff and residents to ensure the smooth and efficient day to day operation of the facility. This shall be carried out in accordance with the Philosophy, objectives and policies of Pinaroo Roma Inc.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA AND KEY CAPABILITIES:

·         Experience in Financial Management & Accounts Oversight

·         Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial records management systems.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Demonstrated organisational, time management, and multitask skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision within scope of role.

·         Demonstrated competency in the following software: MYOB, MS Work, Excel, Power Point, internet and email.

·         Working closely with the CEO / Facility Manager to ensure financial and related targets are achieved.

·         Ability to manage financial budgets, aged care bonds.

·         Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff, residents and their representatives.

·         Display initiative in recognising problems and willingness to assume responsibility for actions taken.

·         Willingness to support the Philosophy and objectives of Pinaroo.

Financial Governance

·        Financial governance using effective systems and processes to ensure financial resources are used to deliver safe and quality care services

·        Lead the responsibility of maintaining currency in funding issues, budgets and budget variance.

·        Lead the development and implementation of new policies and practices in relation to finance

·        Make decisions regarding investment strategies, applying for grants and other sources of income and how this is distributed.

Finance

·        Conducting the preparation of financial reports that outline and forecast Pinaroo Roma Inc’s financial position including balance sheets, income statements and current and future cash flow analysis.

·        Oversee the management and maintenance of debtors, creditors and petty cash.

·        Managing resident’s financial records confidentially including new resident agreements including Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) Management, (bonds periodic payments, retentions and interest).

·        Transparency with residents and their families on admission and throughout their stay regarding fees and charges and financial management of RADs.

Regulatory and Compliance

·        Responsible for compliance with financial legislation and Prudential’s and satisfy the requirements of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

Payroll Management

·         Manages payroll functions resourcing NES, Aged Care Award 2010 and Nurses Award 2010 as required.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

·         Provide assistance where reasonably required to manage the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the philosophy, objectives and policies of Pinaroo with a focus on financial management.

·         Actively participate in quality and continuous improvement activities to ensure accreditation requirements are met and maintained.

·         In conjunction with the Facility Manager and Senior Staff, ensure that documenting financial suggestions and/or problems regarding financial work practices are completed and followed up.

·         Participate in and attend continuous improvement and other Committees.
