Finance Manager - Developer

Job Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, regulatory compliance, and efficient cash flow management. The role supports the General Manager – Finance in maintaining the company’s financial stability and achieving business objectives through sound financial practices and operational control.

Job Specifications:

1. Financial Planning and Budgeting

·       Assist in preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans.

·       Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis reports.

·       Support management in financial planning and cost control initiatives.

·       Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

2. Financial Operations Management

·       Oversee daily finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

·       Monitor company cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and lending activities.

·       Manage payment schedules, fund disbursement, and financial transactions accurately and efficiently.

·       Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of financial records.

3. Financial Reporting and Compliance

·       Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

·       Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.

·       Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant financial regulations including the Moneylenders Act.

·       Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes.

4. Team Supervision and Development

·       Supervise and guide finance executives and finance support staff in daily operations.

·       Provide coaching, training, and performance monitoring to ensure departmental effectiveness.

·       Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

·       Assist in developing SOPs and improving finance-related processes.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

·       Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial support and operational insights.

·       Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, legal representatives, and external stakeholders when required.

·       Support management in financial discussions, reporting, and business decision-making.

6. Risk and Credit Management

·       Monitor financial risks and ensure proper internal controls are implemented.

·       Review customer financial assessments and loan documentation to minimize credit risk.

·       Monitor loan repayment collections and follow up on overdue accounts.

·       Assist in handling loan default cases and recommend recovery actions when necessary.

·       Ensure proper safeguarding of company assets and financial information.

·       Accurate Financial Reporting: Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of financial statements and management reports.
