Finance Manager Group Reporting

What will you do?

Position Purpose

To support the Senior Manager: Group Finance in overseeing the financial reporting, management reporting, governance, tax reporting and financial control environment for the Corporate Cluster, while leading a team of accountants to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial information for management, board, tax, audit and statutory reporting purposes.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and approve Corporate Cluster management accounts, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and related financial reporting deliverables.
• Maintain a strong financial control environment by monitoring key controls, resolving control deficiencies and ensuring appropriate review and approval processes.
• Support the preparation, review and finalisation of Corporate Cluster tax returns and tax-related reconciliations, ensuring alignment to statutory deadlines and resolution of tax queries.
• Manage internal and external audit deliverables, including audit planning, evidence preparation, query resolution and follow-up on audit findings.
• Prepare and review board, executive and management reporting packs with clear financial analysis, commentary, risks and key business insights.
• Partner with Corporate Cluster stakeholders to support decision-making, budgeting, forecasting, risk identification and delivery of strategic priorities.
• Directly manage a team of accountants, including workload allocation, review of outputs, coaching, performance management and ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, quality standards and control requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years’ relevant finance experience, including at least 5 years post-articles experience as a qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA), preferably within a group reporting, listed company or complex multi-entity environment.
• 3 years experience leading or directly managing accountants or finance team members is required.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) qualification is required, together with a relevant finance or accounting degree.

Professional Membership:

• Registered member of SAICA as a Chartered Accountant CA(SA).

Knowledge:

• Knowledge and application of IFRS, Companies Act requirements, relevant tax legislation, statutory and tax reporting requirements and internal financial control principles.
• Knowledge of group reporting, management reporting, audit processes, governance frameworks and financial risk management.
