Finance Manager (Part-time)

Flour has grown a lot over the past three years, and with a new venue opening and plenty more ahead, we’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to help keep the financial side of the business organised, accurate and running smoothly.

This is an important role within Flour. You’ll work closely with our owners and leadership team, taking ownership of the day-to-day financial operations while helping us better understand the numbers behind the business and make smart decisions as we grow.

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around Xero, loves a good system, has exceptional attention to detail and can bring both structure and commercial thinking to a busy hospitality business.

This is a part-time role, approximately 2–3 days per week, with flexibility around how those hours are structured.

The role

You’ll be responsible for keeping our financial processes on track across the business, including:

• Managing day-to-day financial operations through Xero
• Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Processing supplier invoices and managing accounts payable workflows
• Using Dext for document capture, invoices and expense processing
• Managing end-to-end payroll, including wages, superannuation and PAYG
• Processing payroll using time and attendance information from Tanda
• Understanding and correctly applying relevant industry awards, including the Fast Food Industry Award
• Ensuring pay rates, penalties and payroll processes are accurate and compliant
• Preparing clear financial reports and summaries for the owners and leadership team
• Keeping an eye on expenses, cost trends and cash flow
• Supporting month-end processes and preparing information for BAS and our external accountants
• Reviewing and improving financial systems and processes as Flour continues to grow
• Providing general finance and administrative support where needed

About you

You’ll ideally have:

• A strong bookkeeping, finance or accounting background
• Advanced Xero knowledge — this is essential
• Xero certification or formal bookkeeping/accounting qualifications highly regarded
• Previous experience managing payroll
• A good understanding of awards, penalty rates and payroll compliance
• Hospitality, café, bakery or multi-site experience highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail and a genuinely organised way of working
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your area
• Commercial awareness and the ability to turn numbers into useful, practical information
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work closely with different areas of the business
• A high level of discretion and professionalism when working with confidential information

Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
