Finance Officer

About the Role

Asbuild NT is seeking an organised and proactive Finance Officer to join our team in Alice Springs.

Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's finance administration, with a primary focus on accounts payable and supporting the efficient operation of the finance function. The successful applicant will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of transactions, supporting payroll and statutory reporting, and contributing to strong financial controls across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts receivable function, including raising invoices, receipting payments and following up outstanding accounts.
• Process accounts payable invoices and prepare payment runs.
• Raise and manage purchase orders.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Provide weekly cash flow and financial position updates to the Director.
• Assist with payroll processing and act as payroll officer during periods of leave or absence.
• Liaise with external organisations, including the Australian Taxation Office, superannuation funds and other government agencies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
• Assist Project Managers and the Director with financial reporting, project cost tracking and general finance administration.
• Support the day-to-day operations of the office as required.
• Review finance workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Undertake other duties and training that are safe, lawful and within the employee's skills, competence and experience.
