Finance Officer

About the role

MEDILIN GROUP SDN BHD is seeking a Finance Officer to join our finance team in Sungai Petani, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and reporting accuracy of our organisation. As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the wider finance function with accurate and timely financial information. This role is essential to our operations and directly contributes to the decision-making processes across the business.

What you'll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconciling bank statements, ledger accounts and other financial records on a regular basis
• Preparing and maintaining financial documentation and records in accordance with accounting principles
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Performing data entry and maintaining accurate financial databases and spreadsheets
• Supporting the audit process by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor queries
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Assisting with the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Supporting general ledger maintenance and month-end close procedures
• Liaising with internal departments and external parties regarding financial matters

What we're looking for

• A qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline (such as AAT, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification)
• Proven experience working in a finance or accounting function, preferably in a similar Finance Officer or Assistant Accountant role
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when processing large volumes of transactions
• A solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial matters to both finance and non-finance colleagues
• Reliability and a commitment to meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations is preferred
