Finance Officer

Looking for your next finance opportunity within the public sector? This is a great opportunity to join an established finance team where you’ll work across a varied mix of transactional finance, financial administration and month-end activities.

Kingston Human Capital is partnering with a well-established public sector organisation to recruit an experienced AO4 Finance Officer for an initial 6-month contract with potential extension.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing accounts payments and invoices
• Preparing and processing journals
• Managing corporate card transactions
• Supporting general debtor activities
• Assisting with month-end processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple systems
• Liaising with stakeholders regarding financial processes, systems and procedures
• Ensuring financial activities are completed in line with relevant policies and procedures
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and practices
• Providing broader financial support to the team as required

What We’re Looking For

• Recent Finance Officer, Accounts Officer or similar finance experience
• TechnologyOne or FinanceOne experience is highly preferred
• Strong SAP experience will also be considered
• Experience within Queensland State Government, local government/councils, statutory authorities or similar public sector environments is highly regarded
• Hands-on experience with accounts processing, journals and financial administration
• Exposure to month-end processes
• Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proactive and collaborative approach
