Finance Officer

Lead the daily accounting operations and supervise the Accounting Interns.

· Check daily bank balances and ensure the cashbook is updated daily.

· Ensure all receipts, payments, invoices and petty cash transactions are properly recorded and supported with documents.

· Control payments by confirming request, verification, approval, payment, posting, filing and reconciliation.

· Confirm that invoices, purchase requests, POs, delivery notes, GRNs, approvals and project codes are attached before payment.

· Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow reports, including expected receipts, vendor payments, payroll, tax obligations and project mobilization needs.

· Manage accounts payable, vendor balances, WHT deductions and supplier reconciliation.

· Manage accounts receivable, client invoices, debtors tracker, receivable aging and payment follow-up.

· Ensure every active project has a project code and that project expenses are posted to the correct project.

· Prepare weekly project cost and profitability reports showing budgeted cost, actual cost, committed cost, variance and margin position.

· Review payroll, salary deductions, PAYE, pension and statutory obligations before approval.

· Track VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, pension, ITF, NSITF and other statutory requirements with support from external consultants where applicable.

· Complete monthly bank reconciliation and investigate unreconciled transactions.

· Prepare weekly accounting reports and monthly management accounts for management decision-making.
