What they need
About EDGX
EDGX is a fast-growing Belgian spacetech company defining the compute layer of the space economy. That future starts with edge computers onboard spacecraft and scales to data centre nodes in space. We're making the building blocks for compute services in space.
We started just three years ago, and we're moving fast. EDGX is backed by imec.istart, the imec.istart Future Fund, and the Flanders Future Tech Fund through a €2.3M seed round, plus several ongoing ESA contracts. Our first two satellite demonstration missions launched in March 2026 on a SpaceX Falcon 9, with more sure to come. If you want to help define the future of the space industry, you'll feel right at home at EDGX.
About the role
We are looking for a Finance Officer to strengthen our team as EDGX scales. You'll spend most of your time on financial controlling tasks – closing, reporting, budgeting and cashflow follow-up – while also lending a hand with day-to-day accounting where needed. It's an operational, hands-on role at the heart of a fast-growing spacetech company, with plenty of room to shape processes as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controlling (70%)
- Analyse project profitability across our ongoing missions and provide clear insights for management.
- Monitor cashflow on an ongoing basis and maintain a rolling cashflow forecast, flagging potential shortfalls or risks early on.
- Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises across departments, consolidating inputs and tracking actuals against plan.
- Build, maintain and continuously improve financial dashboards and management reporting, giving leadership clear and timely visibility into the company's financial performance.
- Support the preparation for internal and external audits. Gather and organise supporting documentation, and help ensure our financial records remain audit-ready throughout the year.
Accounting Support (30%)
- Support our external accountant with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including purchase-to-pay processing and bank reconciliations, and follow up proactively on outstanding supplier invoices and payments to keep our accounts payable up to date.
- Support the monthly and year-end closing process by preparing schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation, helping ensure closings run smoothly and on time.
- Assist in preparing periodic VAT and Intrastat filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Contribute to improving and digitalising our finance processes and tools, helping the finance function scale alongside the rest of the company.
What you're bringing
- A Master's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial controlling, accounting or finance administration
- Experience working in a technical environment (space industry is a plus)
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with an ERP system (Odoo is a plus)
- Knowledge and experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition and Work in Progress (WIP)valuation, ideally applied to long-term projects or contracts
- Precise, structured and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership
- A hands-on, proactive attitude and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters to non-financial colleagues
