Finance Officer

ASR Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Newcastle organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a broad, hands-on finance position with plenty of variety across the day-to-day accounts function. You’ll work closely with the wider business, take ownership of your responsibilities and support a range of finance activities rather than sitting solely within one area.

Your Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Bank and account reconciliations
• Processing invoices, payments and receipts
• Managing supplier and customer queries
• Assisting with month-end processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting payroll and general finance administration where required
• Assisting with reporting and financial data
• Liaising with internal stakeholders across the business
• Working with Excel and internal finance systems
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc requirements

About You:

• Solid experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and reconciliations
• Confidence working with large volumes of financial data
• Strong Excel and finance systems capability
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• The ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
• Good time management and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
• A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance team
• Experience assisting with month-end, reporting or payroll would be advantageous
