Finance Officer

About the role

Engine Swim is seeking a part-time Finance Officer to join their team based in Mordialloc, VIC. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial records and supporting the broader finance function.

• Key responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, supplier payments, customer invoicing and account enquiries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor outstanding debtors, follow up overdue accounts and provide regular collection updates to management.
  • Prepare daily sales reports, cash flow updates and monthly financial reports, highlighting issues requiring attention.
  • Assist with payroll, employee reimbursements, superannuation and BAS preparation, working with external bookkeepers and accountants as required.
  • Monitor expenses, support budgeting and identify unusual costs, billing errors or opportunities for savings.
  • Assist with stock reconciliations and inventory reporting in coordination with the warehouse team.
  • Maintain organised financial records, provide administrative support and ensure compliance with relevant accounting requirements and company policies.

What we're looking for

• Relevant experience as an Accounts Officer or similar finance role
• Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
