Finance Officer

An exciting temporary opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Officer to join a well-established organisation based in Northern Brisbane suburbs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership across general accounting, payroll and finance administration within a supportive team environment.

The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for a broad range of finance functions across general accounting, payroll and administration, while working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the finance function operates accurately and efficiently.

• Complete month-end journals including prepayments, accruals and intercompany recharges
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including monthly reconciliations and depreciation journals
• End to end Payroll for up to 100+ employees
• Prepare, lodge and process monthly payroll tax and annual returns
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation packs
• Manage credit card reconciliations and staff expense claims
• Provide support across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Prepare monthly timesheet summaries and wages allocations
• Process monthly payroll and lodge monthly superannuation contributions
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records
• Complete end-of-year payroll reconciliations and reporting
• Provide reception and general administrative support as required
• Assist with the continuous improvement of finance procedures, systems and processes
• Support the wider team with ad hoc finance and administrative duties

About You

• Previous experience in a general accounting or Finance Officer position
• Experience across month-end, reconciliations and general accounting processes
• Previous payroll experience, ideally with exposure to end-to-end payroll processes
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel
• High level of accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
• A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take initiative
• Strong customer service skills and a professional approach
