Finance Officer

Hays Accountancy & Finance are working with a well-established organisation in Rotherham to recruit a temporary Finance Officer for an initial period of 3+ months. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a busy finance team and provide support across a range of transactional and finance administration duties.

Your New Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Duties will include:

• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
• Assisting with bank reconciliations
• Processing payments and monitoring cash transactions
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting requirements
• Assisting with credit control activities where required
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers
• General finance administration and ad hoc support to the wider finance team

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Previous experience working within a Finance Officer, Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Available to start at short notice
