ABOUT THE COMPANY

Its values drive everything it does: compassion, teamwork, integrity and a deep passion for social justice.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity to build hands-on, end-to-end finance experience. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key part in keeping the group’s finances accurate, compliant and on time, giving leadership the clear numbers they need to direct funds where they matter most. You’ll work closely with a small, supportive finance team and partner with staff across the organisation. It’s the perfect platform to sharpen your technical skills and grow your career.

DUTIES

  • Prepare supplier payments for authorisation in time for the weekly payment run, including occasional USD transactions
  • Update daily bank transactions in the finance system
  • Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and staff expense claims
  • Reconcile supplier statements, resolve invoice queries and send remittance advice
  • Prepare month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce management accounts, including P&L and budget vs actual analysis, for review by the Finance Manager
  • Prepare BAS for review and support annual budgeting and audits
  • Coordinate light office administration, including stationery, mail and couriers

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Australian experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping or a similar finance support role (recent graduates with some practical experience are encouraged to apply)
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliations, payment processing and month-end
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ideally, experience using Microsoft Business Central
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet weekly deadlines
  • A proactive, self-motivated team player with a passion for social justice
  • A finance, accounting or bookkeeping qualification (desirable)
  • A current Working with Children Check

BENEFITS

  • Hybrid working with WFH flexibility
  • Structured training and career development within a supportive finance team
  • Salary packaging is available
  • Meaningful work that contributes directly to a social impact mission
  • A central CBD location with excellent public transport links

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS
At Lotus People, we are committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply and will ensure a fair and equitable recruitment process.

Every application we receive is reviewed by a real person, never by AI. If your experience aligns with the requirements of the role, a consultant will be in touch within 2–3 business days for an initial phone screen. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to a virtual interview with the consultant managing the role.

Due to the volume of applications and the specific nature of our briefs, we are unable to take phone enquiries about roles before an application is submitted. We ask that all interested candidates please apply online and wait to hear from us. Rest assured, we respond to every applicant, regardless of the outcome, so you will not be left wondering.

Lotus People are proud to have been awarded Best Agency for Candidate Experience for five consecutive years. We look forward to providing you with a positive and respectful experience.
