Finance Operations Executive

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Operations Executive to manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations while supporting financial reporting and business analysis through SQL.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who is also comfortable working directly with databases, extracting financial data, writing SQL queries, and developing reports to support management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting and finance operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank transactions, and general ledger.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journals, and reconciliations.
• Handle supplier payments, invoice verification, and payment processing.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and collections.
• Prepare monthly management reports, cash-flow reports, and variance analysis.
• Perform financial data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting using SQL.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, and dashboards for management and operational reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end financial closing.
• Handle a full set of accounts and ensure proper accounting documentation.
• Support e-invoicing, SST/GST, and relevant LHDN compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit processes.
• Work with Operations, Product, and Technology teams to improve financial processes, system integration, and data accuracy.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong proficiency in SQL is a MUST — candidates should be comfortable writing complex queries, joins, subqueries, views, and procedures.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF, SUMIFS, and other reporting functions.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Able to handle a full set of accounts.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and accuracy-driven.
• Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred / Added Advantage

Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, Power BI or other BI/reporting tools, e-invoicing, and LHDN requirements, bank reconciliation, and cash-flow management will be advantageous.

Experience within technology, e-commerce, logistics, delivery, or on-demand platforms is also a plus.
