About the role
We are looking for a proactive, highly experienced Finance Operations Specialist to join our finance team. This is a hands-on, operational role with responsibility for delivering our end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) process, improving customer invoicing efficiency and driving automation across our order-to-cash workflows.
You will play a key part in connecting our Sales, Operations, Vendor Management and Finance teams, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are received on time, and billing issues are resolved efficiently.
We're looking for a confident self-starter who can take ownership from day one, challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual work through automation. You'll also be comfortable picking up the phone to resolve customer queries, build relationships with accounts payable teams and support healthy cash flow across the business.
What you'll be doing?
- Delivering and improving the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process, ensuring customer invoices are accurate and issued promptly.
- Proactively managing outstanding invoices, sending payment reminders and contacting customers directly to secure payments within agreed terms.
- Monitoring payment performance and outstanding balances to support cash flow and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Investigating billing discrepancies, resolving customer queries and working with internal teams to prevent recurring issues.
- Contribute to implementing automation to reduce manual administration and improve efficiency.
- Streamlining order-to-cash workflows, working closely with Sales, Account Management, Operations and Vendor Management.
- Maintaining accurate records of customer communications, invoice statuses and payment commitments.
- Providing regular updates on outstanding invoices, payment performance and process improvements.
What are we looking for?
- A proactive, self-motivated individual who takes ownership and can hit the ground running.
- Someone who is confident picking up the phone to speak with customers, resolve billing queries and secure outstanding payments.
- A problem-solver who can investigate discrepancies, identify root causes and find practical solutions.
- Someone who enjoys improving processes, challenging existing ways of working and finding opportunities to automate manual tasks.
- A strong communicator who can build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders across the business.
- An organised and analytical individual who can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Someone comfortable working autonomously, driving improvements and taking responsibility for delivering results.
Our Requirements
- At least five years' experience in finance operations, accounts receivable or credit control.
- Proven experience managing customer invoicing, payment collections and outstanding balances.
- Demonstrable experience improving processes and implementing automation or workflow efficiencies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively and collaborate with teams across the business.
Other skills/qualifications - (Desirable, not mandatory)
- Experience with Xero, Salesforce and Dealhub
- Experience with automation tooling
- Experience working within a technology, software or cybersecurity reseller environment
