About the Role
As Finance Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial and commercial success of the Te Awaparahi Bay Port Expansion project. This is a hands-on role where you’ll provide financial insight, challenge and governance to a generationally significant infrastructure project, helping project leaders make informed decisions and maintain strong financial control.
You’ll take ownership of project reporting, forecasting, cash flow, capital expenditure and project financial risk, while partnering closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, central Finance and governance forums. You’ll also provide commercial advice, review project costs and commitments, and ensure financial information is accurate, transparent and fit for decision-making.
With the project moving through delivery and ultimately into business-as-usual operations, you’ll also have an important role in asset capitalisation, project close-out and the transition of financial records and assets into the wider business.
What sets you apart
You’re an experienced finance professional who can combine strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial thinking and the confidence to work alongside senior project and business leaders. You’ll be comfortable working with complex financial information, asking the right questions and providing constructive challenge when it matters.
- 7+ years’ accounting and commercial experience, including 3–5 years in a senior financial role.
- CAANZ membership or equivalent overseas professional body membership preferred but strong experience in a contracting environment would be ideal.
- Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with tax and asset capitalisation, with asset accounting experience highly desirable.
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects or within an infrastructure environment would be advantageous.
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a high-pressure project environment.
- The ability to turn complex financial information into clear reporting, presentations and recommendations for senior leaders and governance forums.
