Finance Senior Executive, General Ledger (GL)

We are seeking a Finance Senior Executive, General Ledger (GL) to join our Finance team at Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya based in Kajang, Selangor. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of our general ledger operations. As Finance Senior Executive, GL, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of general ledger management, financial accounting entries, and month-end close procedures. This role is strategically important to the organisation as it directly impacts the accuracy, timeliness and reliability of our financial statements and supporting records.

Key responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining the general ledger system, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified
• Performing daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers
• Preparing and reviewing journal entries for various financial transactions including accruals, reversals and adjustments
• Overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews and supporting documentation
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies, errors and variances in general ledger accounts in a timely manner
• Preparing financial reports and statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
• Coordinating with operational departments to resolve accounting queries and ensure timely provision of required documentation
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and relevant accounting regulations
• Training and assisting junior finance staff on general ledger procedures and best practices
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations of transactions
• Continuously reviewing and improving general ledger processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent recognised certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, general ledger management or similar accounting roles
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and general ledger systems, with experience in SAP, Oracle or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems being advantageous
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (MFRS, IFRS or similar) and month-end close procedures
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong ability to identify and correct errors
• Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and data management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels
• Knowledge of internal controls, audit procedures and regulatory compliance requirements
• Prior experience in the hospitality or hotel industry would be highly beneficial
