Financial Accountant

About the Role

We're looking for two Financial Accountants to join the growing accounting team of a US-based real estate investment firm managing a multi-property portfolio. Both are confirmed openings driven by the firm's continued growth.

This role is responsible for accurate monthly financials and the integrity of reporting across an assigned set of properties. You'll work closely with Senior Accountants within a structured, multi-level review process, with the goal of independently owning your property portfolio's close.

We're open to both experienced accountants who can ramp quickly and early-career professionals who are highly trainable and fast to pick things up. Structured onboarding and hands-on training are in place, and the expectation is that you move through them at pace. This is not a "silent task executor" role. The team values regular communication, ownership, and professionals who integrate fully into the team.

What You'll Do

Month-End Close & Financial Statements

• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties and deliver clean financial packages on deadline
• Review general ledger activity and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, corrections, and recurring and reversing entries
• Perform account and bank reconciliations and balance sheet tie-outs

Analysis & Review

• Analyze revenue and expense activity, investigate discrepancies, and draft variance explanations
• Identify posting errors and misclassifications and escalate appropriately
• Collaborate with regional managers on preliminary financials and participate in the multi-level review process before final approval

Property Accounting Workflows

• Prepare draw packets with the required documentation
• Support real estate tax workflows and lender interactions
• Navigate and use Yardi across GL, payables, banking, and reporting (training provided)

Compliance & Process

• Ensure compliance with internal reporting standards and deadlines
• Maintain documentation and support audit readiness
• Provide proactive updates, participate in regular check-ins, and suggest process improvements

What We're Looking For

Non-Negotiables

• At least 1 year of accounting experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience working in an ERP system
• Strong Excel proficiency
• Working understanding of GAAP
• Strong written and verbal communication across email, Microsoft Teams, and video calls
• Highly detail-oriented and analytical, with a natural instinct to investigate discrepancies
• Quick to learn new systems and processes, and self-sufficient on recurring work once oriented
• Comfortable in a structured review environment and open to feedback
• Proactive with updates and questions rather than working in silence

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Property management or real estate accounting experience
• Yardi experience
• CPA or CPA-track
• Experience with draw packets, real estate tax workflows, or lender reporting
• A track record of reaching independent ownership of a portfolio or system faster than a standard ramp
• Prior experience working remotely with US-based teams
