About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Australian finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a dynamic, fast-growing renewable energy organisation.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will play a key role across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial accounting, compliance, reporting and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end AP and AR processes, including reconciliations, invoicing, collections and payment cycles.
• Complete month-end and year-end close activities, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support financial reporting, audits, BAS preparation, GST compliance and tax obligations, including Project Development Assets.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and assist with project spend reporting.
• Project reporting with potential to develop PowerBi reports.
• Support SAP implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve financial controls, reporting and operational efficiency.

About You

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualified (or working towards qualification).
• Approximately 5+ years' experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Background in renewable energy, infrastructure, or energy-related industries is an added advantage
• Experience within a large organisation, multinational or shared services environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and tax regulations (GST, WHT, and corporate tax).
• SAP FICO experience highly regarded; Xero experience also beneficial.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills with strong analytical capability.
• Financial Modelling experience a plus
• Ability to work autonomously while building strong stakeholder relationships.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Familiar with large company processes, approvals, and work culture.
• Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship required.
