Financial Analyst

About the role

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing high-quality financial analysis, reporting, investment assessment, and financial advisory support to support CCFL's equity crowdfunding, capital raising, and financial market operations. The role contributes to business performance analysis, financial risk management, regulatory compliance, investor reporting, and strategic decision-making. The Financial Analyst applies strong financial knowledge, analytical skills, and commercial insight to assess financial information, support funding arrangements, and enhance financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analysing financial statements, management reports, financial forecasts, and performance reports for presentation to directors, management, shareholders, investors, and relevant stakeholders.
• Analyse business financial information, including revenue, operating costs, expenditure, cash flow, and financial trends, to identify business performance opportunities and financial risks.
• Assist in formulating and implementing financial policies, budgeting procedures, accounting processes, and internal control frameworks.
• Conduct financial reviews and investigations, including analysing financial records, assessing financial risks, and preparing reports relating to business performance, investment opportunities, and corporate transactions.
• Evaluate financial information provided by businesses seeking capital raising support, including reviewing business models, financial forecasts, funding requirements, and investment risks.
• Provide financial analysis and advice relating to business structures, capital financing arrangements, investment projects, and operational strategies.
• Prepare financial modelling, cash flow forecasts, and financial analysis reports to support investment decisions and strategic planning.
• Liaise with financial institutions, brokers, accountants, and external advisers to support funds management arrangements, financial transactions, and regulatory requirements.
• Review financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with New Zealand accounting standards and statutory obligations.
• Assist with taxation information preparation, audit documentation, financial compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Candidates without a relevant qualification must have at least 3 years' relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, investment analysis, corporate finance, financial reporting, or business advisory services.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business analysis.
• Understanding of New Zealand financial markets, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations is preferred.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide practical recommendations.
• Experience with accounting software, financial systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with management, investors, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.
