Financial Analyst

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a smart, analytical, and hands-on Finance Analyst with 34 years of experience to join our Finance/BI team. The role will work closely with Business Heads and key internal stakeholders to provide financial insights, analyse business performance, and support data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate should have strong financial analysis skills, excellent command of MS Excel, and a good understanding of business finances, profitability, revenue, costs, and key financial drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and financial performance across different business areas.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, MIS, dashboards, and performance trackers.
• Analyse revenue, costs, profitability, margins, and business trends to identify key drivers and areas of improvement.
• Work closely with Business Heads and internal stakeholders to understand business performance and provide actionable financial insights.
• Conduct variance analysis between actuals, budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
• Develop financial models and analysis using advanced Excel.
• Track key financial and business KPIs and highlight trends, gaps, and risks.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Deep dive into financial data to understand the inflows, outflows, cost structures, and profitability of the business.
• Translate complex financial data into clear and meaningful insights for business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved profitability.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports.
• Work with the BI team to improve reporting, dashboards, and data-driven financial analysis.
• Handle ad-hoc financial analysis and business requests from senior stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, Business Finance, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of P&L, revenue, costs, margins, profitability, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX-MATCH, dashboards, financial models, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large datasets.
• Ability to independently analyse numbers and understand the complete financial picture of a business.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Comfortable working directly with Business Heads and senior internal stakeholders.
• Strong ownership and ability to work independently.

Good to Have

• Experience working with BI/Business Intelligence teams.
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other data/analytics tools.
• Strong interest in technology and ability to quickly learn new tools and systems.
• Experience in a technology, SaaS, services, or digital business environment.
