FINANCIAL ANALYST

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and analytical Financial Analyst to join a client operating in the oil and gas services industry in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent analytical skills, and a sound understanding of financial reporting standards and Nigerian tax regulations. The successful candidate will support financial planning, reporting, analysis, and decision-making to ensure effective financial management and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance and identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with applicable accounting standards and Nigerian tax regulations.
• Apply relevant provisions of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as applicable.
• Support financial planning, cost control, cash flow monitoring, and expenditure management.
• Analyse financial data and provide actionable insights to support management decisions.
• Assist with internal and external audits and the preparation of supporting documentation.
• Liaise with relevant departments to obtain financial information and improve reporting accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure the integrity of financial information.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ICAN or ACCA qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and Nigerian tax laws.
• Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial reporting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in the oil and gas services industry will be an added advantage.
