Financial Analyst - Costing

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze project, product, and operational cost estimates.
• Monitor actual costs against budgets, forecasts, and approved cost plans.
• Perform regular cost and variance analysis and investigate significant deviations.
• Prepare project costing, profitability, and financial performance reports.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cost projections.
• Analyze material, labor, subcontractor, overhead, and other project-related costs.
• Support pricing and quotation activities by providing accurate cost and margin analysis.
• Monitor project financial performance and identify potential cost overruns or risks.
• Prepare monthly and periodic management reports related to costing and financial performance.
• Reconcile costing data with accounting and operational records.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and improved profitability.
• Maintain accurate and organized costing files, databases, and financial records.
• Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities related to project and operational costs.
• Perform other financial and analytical tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, project costing, budgeting, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced or intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
