Location: Washington, DC

Schedule: Hybrid – 3 Days In Office per Week

Pay: 44-48 hr

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst for a contract opportunity with a professional services organization in Washington, DC. This is a hands-on, reporting-focused role supporting month-end close, financial analysis, budgeting, and management reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills and be able to step in quickly with minimal training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 3+ years of financial analysis experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Power Query.
• Strong experience preparing monthly financial reports, analyzing KPIs, and performing financial reconciliations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
• Ability to reconcile and analyze data across multiple systems.
• Strong communication skills and experience partnering with department leaders and management.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and become productive quickly with minimal training.
• Flexibility to work additional hours during critical reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring month-end financial reporting packages and support month-end close.
• Develop departmental financial reports and provide analysis to support leadership decisions.
• Assist with flash reporting, financial reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis.
• Analyze financial trends, KPIs, profitability, and budget-to-actual variances.
• Support financial modeling and scenario analysis related to pricing, hiring, and investments.
• Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Partner with department heads and finance leadership to communicate financial results and recommendations.
• Identify reporting discrepancies and support improvements to financial reporting processes.
