Role Overview

As Financial Controller , you will be responsible for the full financial management of the business, reporting directly to senior leadership. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decisions, ensuring compliance, driving efficiency, and supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial operations including month-end, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting
• Produce and present timely and accurate management accounts
• Manage financial audits and ensure full compliance with statutory and tax requirements
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and credit control
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures
• Develop performance dashboards and KPIs for key departments
• Liaise with external advisors, banks, and auditors as required
• Provide strategic financial input to support business planning and expansion
• Support the roll-out of financial systems or ERP improvements
• Manage and mentor a small finance team (if applicable)

✅ Candidate Requirements

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent preferred)
• 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance role, ideally with experience as a Financial Controller
• Experience in construction, energy, renewables, or related sectors would be a plus but is not required
• Strong understanding of Irish tax and financial regulations
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or ERP systems)
• High level of accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
• Based within commuting distance of Midleton, Cork (hybrid role after 3-month office onboarding period)
