What they need
About the Role
As the Company grow with new outlet openings, Directors need a Finance Controller who can do more than close the books. You'll be the key financial advisor to our Directors, driving P&L insight, cost control, and investment decisions as we scale.
1. Financial Strategy & Advisory to Directors
- Deliver regular P&L-driven recommendations to Directors — not just report numbers, but interpret them and advise on action
- Lead cost control initiatives across both outlets, identifying margin leakage and driving corrective measures
- Assess financial viability of new outlet openings — investment appraisal, payback analysis, scenario planning
- Act as the primary financial advisor to Directors on pricing, promotions, and growth decisions
- Monitor profitability trends and proactively flag risks/opportunities before they're asked for
2. Accounting & Financial Operations
- Full accountability for accuracy and integrity of accounts across both entities
- Own group-level P&L and balance sheet, including consolidation across two entities
- Set and enforce accounting policies, chart of accounts, and closing calendar
- Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and internal controls, particularly for cash-intensive nightlife operations
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Set AP/AR governance frameworks and approval limits
- Approve high-value payments and resolve escalated supplier/customer disputes
- Set credit and payment terms policy
4. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Ultimate responsibility for GST, IRAS, and statutory compliance across both entities
- Own the external audit relationship and sign off on audited financial statements
- Oversee ACRA and corporate governance matters with company secretary
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting the F&B/nightlife industry
5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Treasury
- Own the full budgeting and forecasting cycle, setting targets in partnership with Directors
- Own treasury function: cash flow, banking relationships, and financing needs
- Track variances and translate them into actionable recommendations, not just reports
6. Team Leadership
- Supervise the Accounts team
- Set KPIs and provide performance input for finance team member, in line with company's review process
- Build out the finance team structure as the business scales
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance; ACCA/CPA strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience (senior/full-charge level), ideally with F&B, hospitality, retail, or nightlife/entertainment exposure
- Proven track record advising senior leadership/Directors on P&L, cost control, and investment decisions
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, multi-outlet environment with new openings in the pipeline
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate numbers into a clear recommendation
- People management/coaching experience essential
