Financial Controller

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and financial reporting
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports and analyses to senior management and stakeholders
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial plans to support business objectives
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and relevant legislation
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and risk management procedures
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing training and performance feedback
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure smooth audit processes
• Optimise financial operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance management roles
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are essential
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations and relevant Hong Kong/international financial reporting standards
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
• Integrity and commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standards
• Experience in the recruitment or professional services sector would be advantageous
