Financial Controller

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, internationally focused technology business at an important stage of its development.

Reporting to the CFO and leading a small finance team, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while helping strengthen the systems, processes and reporting needed to support continued growth.
This is a broad and hands-on position combining financial control, team leadership, commercial support, compliance, forecasting and finance transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and scenario-planning processes
• Provide insightful management reporting and analysis to senior leaders and budget holders
• Partner with operational leaders, providing commercial advice and constructively challenging decision-making
• Lead the day-to-day finance function and manage a small team
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage month-end, year-end and financial reporting processes
• Maintain effective financial policies, procedures and internal controls
• Manage cash-flow forecasting, foreign exchange exposure and longer-term cash modelling
• Oversee tax and statutory compliance across multiple international jurisdictions
• Strengthen financial systems, reporting tools and automated workflows
• Lead improvements to billing, revenue and finance processes to support the organisation’s growth
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, banks and other key external stakeholders
• Support funding applications, grants, audits and due-diligence activity as required
• Coach and develop the finance team while building a positive, accountable working environment

About you You will be a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will be comfortable operating in a growing, fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and there is genuine scope to improve how finance supports the wider business.
Ideally, you will bring:

• A CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• At least eight years’ progressive finance experience, including senior finance leadership experience
• Experience managing and developing a small finance team
• Strong financial control, reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability
• Experience supporting a business operating across multiple entities or jurisdictions
• Knowledge of international tax, statutory compliance and audit requirements
• Experience within a technology, digital services or other recurring-revenue environment
• A track record of improving finance systems and reducing manual processes
• Strong financial modelling and cash-flow forecasting skills
• An interest in using automation and AI tools to improve reporting, analysis and finance operations
• The confidence to communicate financial information clearly and influence non-finance stakeholders
