Financial Controller

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Bertam, Penang. As the Financial Controller, you will oversee the company's finance and accounting functions while supporting Management in driving financial performance and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role that requires strong financial management, cost control, and business partnering within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash flow, and taxation.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Monitor the company's financial performance and provide analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Oversee product costing, manufacturing cost analysis, inventory valuation, and cost control initiatives to improve profitability.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretary, and government authorities.
• Manage treasury functions, including cash flow planning, banking facilities, and working capital.
• Review and improve financial processes, accounting systems, and internal procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with department heads to monitor budgets, production costs, inventory levels, and operational performance.
• Support Management in strategic planning, investment evaluation, and business expansion initiatives.
• Perform other duties and projects assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and/or professional qualification in MIA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
• 5 years of financial experience at managerial level, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of successful financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Required languages: Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, English.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is an advantage.
• Candidate must be able to work at Bertam Technology Park.
