Financial Controller

Manage all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets,

and intercompany transactions. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Lead month-end and year-end close processes; oversee the timely, accurate monthly financial statements and management reports, including board, lender and investor reporting. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Support the development of appropriate accounting activities for key workstreams for August Bio including payroll, manufacturing and cost accounting, as well as customer deposit and pass through activities,  <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury controls; manage banking relationships. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; implement and maintain internal controls; coordinate internal and external audits. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Manage and develop the finance team; assign responsibilities, set goals, and provide coaching. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Support regulatory and compliance reporting (tax, statutory filings, grant reporting if applicable). <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, operations, and commercial teams to drive appropriate accounting processes, cost containment, pricing strategy, and profitability optimization. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Lead ERP/financial systems initiatives; own chart of accounts, cost centers, financial data integrity, and automation opportunities. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Develop scalable accounting policies and procedures; document processes and maintain robust internal controls. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Support financial planning and analysis activities including forecasting, providing analysis of results versus forecast, and supporting pricing decisions.  <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.  <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

10+ years of progressive accounting/controller experience; biotech or life sciences and manufacturing experience (including pass through activities). Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls; experience with SOX/compliance frameworks. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Proven experience with ERP system implementation and maintenance  (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial consolidation. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools and financial planning software. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities; ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and problem-solving skills. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Experience in early-stage or growth-stage companies; familiarity with ERP implementations. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">

Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and cost accounting methodologies. <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559738":105,"335559739":105,"335559740":360}">
