Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations across multiple corporate entities within Hi-5 ABA. This role upholds financial accuracy, strengthens internal controls, and contributes to the scalability of our franchise system.

This is a fully remote role. Only U.S. residents are eligible for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across four corporate entities.
• Create, manage, and monitor multi-entity budgets.
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and Cash Flow reports.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide accurate financial reports for senior leadership and franchisees.
• Issue financial statements and manage Fee Collection and Advance processes for franchisees.
• Expand bookkeeping services to franchisees and other ABA companies in the industry.

Payroll & Compliance

• Oversee payroll across three corporate entities and franchise groups (internal vs. external model to be determined).
• Act as primary contact for third-party accountants for tax filings and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP across for-profit and nonprofit entities.
• Support preparation of nonprofit filings, including Form 990.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and support accounting team members, strengthening financial accuracy and professional development.
• Work with the CEO, COOs, and other leaders on financial performance and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a multi-unit/multi-entity organization is preferred.
• Experience in a franchising environment strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP (for-profit and nonprofit).
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and Form 990s.
• Proven success in managing multi-entity reporting, budgeting, and closing cycles.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.
• Comfortable working remotely with autonomy and precision
