Financial Controller

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our finance department with energy and precision. Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets with accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations and account analysis to ensure data integrity across multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, and Sage,
• Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Lead the development of budgeting processes and monitor financial performance against forecasts.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to mentor Junior staff members.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, and Sage,
• Solid knowledge of account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (CPA)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian accounting experience and able to
• prepare financial statements under ASPE.

Profile The Successful Applicant:

• CPA designation, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian accounting experience and able to prepare financial statements under ASPE.
• Strong experience within construction, real estate development, property management, or related industries.
• Proven expertise in job costing, project budgets, and construction financing draws.
• Experience working within a multi-entity environment and managing intercompany transactions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate independently.
• Comfortable building structure and processes in an evolving environment.

Pay: $80,018.54-$98,000.00 per year
