Our European manufacturing operation, Portcril , is based in Portugal and plays a key role in our global supply chain, producing high-quality products for customers across Europe and beyond.

Acquired by Superior Wellness in late 2024 and rebranded as Superior Wellness Portugal, the site has recently started production of new product ranges that will transform its financial performance.

The Role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Portugal.

This role will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the facility and for producing meaningful, accurate reporting for both local management and Group finance , working closely with the local management team, the UK Group finance function and operations and supporting the continued development of our European manufacturing operation.

You will have one direct report, a Finance Administrator.

This role suits someone who is proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end month-end process, including accruals, prepayments and control account reconciliations
• Produce timely management accounts and reporting packs for local management and Group
• Provide insightful management information that enables directors to make real-time decisions and improve profitability
• Support and develop the Finance Administrator, ensuring cover and consistency across the finance function
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying efficiency gains in finance processes and controls
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management for the facility
• Work closely with operations on product costing, stock and margin analysis
• Ensure compliance with local Portuguese statutory, tax and audit requirements

What We're Looking For

• Part or fully qualified ACCA or CIMA (or Portuguese equivalent)
• Significant experience operating at Financial Controller level within a manufacturing business
• Proven ability to deliver end-to-end month-end accounts, including accruals, prepayments and control account reconciliations
• Track record of producing management information that supports real-time commercial decision making
• Experience improving finance processes and driving efficiency
• Experience of supporting or managing a small finance team
• Fluent in both Portuguese and English, written and spoken
