Financial Controller

A fast-growing and internationally recognised company within the renewable energy sector is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join its finance team in Madrid. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical finance professional to play a key role in financial reporting, group controlling, and business performance management within a dynamic international environment.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting the month-end close process, preparing consolidated financial statements, and acting as a key liaison between local and group finance functions. The role offers significant exposure to senior management and international stakeholders while contributing to the company's continued growth and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to both local and group management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Monitor financial performance and provide insightful analysis to support business decision-making.
• Participate in finance transformation and system enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller, Group Controller, or in a similar finance leadership role.
• Strong experience working with NetSuite ERP.
• Previous experience in international and multicultural business environments.
• Background gained within large, complex organisations, ideally operating across multiple entities or jurisdictions.
• Experience managing and coordinating offshore finance teams, ensuring effective collaboration, service delivery, and reporting quality.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• English C1 both spoken and written.
