In this position, you will be responsible for operating the bank's accounting function, including the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting to the Bank of Israel. You will report directly to the Chief Accountant while collaborating closely with key stakeholders across banking, product, and R&D, as well as with the Bank of Israel and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and edit financial statements in accordance with Supervisor of Banks directives.
- Streamline financial reporting processes by designing automated reports and notes, alongside embedding SOX controls to minimize manual processes.
- Manage month-end closing processes and prepare monthly/quarterly reports for management and the Board of Directors.
- Manage periodic reporting to the Bank of Israel in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Own credit loss models under CECL directives, collaborating with technology vendors to develop and automate the allowance model.
- Track and implement regulatory and accounting updates.
- Define accounting business requirements (BRD) for new products, map transaction flows to the GL, and conduct UAT and system testing.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and carry out additional accounting and financial tasks as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification – Mandatory.
- At least 3 years of post-internship experience in financial accounting, regulatory reporting, or financial audit within the banking or financial services sector.
- Deep knowledge of Supervisor of Banks directives and relevant accounting standards (US GAAP / IFRS).
- In-depth understanding of banking and financial laws and regulations.
- Experience in operating regulated processes under regulatory guidelines.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience working with large data sets.
- Excellent Hebrew and English skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexible mindset with the ability to learn and quickly adapt to regulatory changes.
Advantages
- Background at a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Direct experience liaising with the Bank of Israel.
