Financial Controller

Group Financial Controller | Malta

Our client is a high-growth, international financial services business with operations across multiple emerging markets. As the organisation continues to scale, they are seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their Group Finance team based in Malta .

Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will play a key role in strengthening financial governance, reporting quality, internal controls and audit processes across a portfolio of international entities.

Key responsibilities:

• Review monthly financial results, balance sheets and cash flow reporting across multiple countries.
• Support month-end close activities and drive improvements in reporting timelines.
• Manage statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Oversee balance sheet governance, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Review and prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support Group accounting policies.
• Support ERP and finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations.
• Partner with regional and local finance teams to improve processes, controls and reporting quality.

About you:

• ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent qualified accountant.
• 3-5 years' experience in audit, financial control or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Big 4 or leading audit firm background preferred.
• Experience managing audits and working with ERP systems.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
