Duties

• Lead the preparation and review of comprehensive financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and financial data validation.
• Oversee all accounting functions such as general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management to maintain seamless financial operations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by managing regulatory reporting requirements and implementing SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls to safeguard assets and uphold transparency.
• Supervise the finance team in managing accounting systems like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial software to optimize efficiency and data integrity.
• Conduct cost accounting analysis to evaluate expenses, identify savings opportunities, and support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
• Oversee treasury management activities including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and investment strategies to maximize liquidity.
• Develop detailed financial reports and analysis for executive leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
• Maintain rigorous internal controls and ensure adherence to both public sector (governmental) and non-profit accounting standards where applicable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role with extensive knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
• Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; advanced skills in spreadsheets and Excel data analysis are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to manage accounting teams effectively while fostering a collaborative environment focused on accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Deep understanding of corporate accounting practices along with specialized knowledge in governmental or non-profit accounting if applicable.
• Excellent technical skills in financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, cost accounting analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial close processing.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance with regulatory standards while supporting strategic initiatives.
• Exceptional communication skills necessary for preparing clear financial reports and presenting complex data to diverse audiences.

Pay: $153,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
