Financial accountant based in Germany

To strengthen our finance department, we are looking for an experienced and independent financial controller for our office in Travemünde.

Our headquarters are in Copenhagen, but we operate globally with modern vessels dedicated to polar expeditions. We specialize in unique and educational journeys where sustainability, authenticity, and quality are always at the forefront.

Following a recent merger, we are establishing our new brand with entities in Denmark, Germany, the USA, and Australia, supported by an ambitious growth plan aimed at making Polar Latitudes Expeditions a preferred choice for both travelers and trade partners. This is an opportunity to join us at a formative stage as we build the next chapter of the Polar Latitudes Expeditions brand.

Your key responsibilities and tasks among other will include:

• Quarter and year end closings
• Consolidated financial statements
• Intercompany eliminations
• Local and group reporting packages
• IFRS and local GAAP compliance
• Internal controls
• Cash flow consolidation and liquidity monitoring
• Audit, tax, and statutory compliance
• Preparing documentation for audit and annual accounts

You’ll report directly to the CFO and collaborate daily with colleagues in Copenhagen, Germany, US and Australia.

Your career journey so far

Your career path doesn’t have to have followed a straight line, but we are looking for someone with a completed university degree in finance, background preferably in auditing, some hands-on accounting experience, experience with group reporting and consolidation, strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS and based in Germany. Experience with MS Office and especially Excel is a must and experience with Navision/Business Central will be an advantage.

Industry experience isn’t required, though it would be an advantage for both you and us. That said, don’t hold back if you can see yourself thriving in this role and if our mission speaks to the globetrotter in you.

Because of our international environment, strong English and German skills, both written and spoken, are required.
