Role: Financial Controller

Location: North London | 4 days on site | 1 WFH

Type : Permanent | Full-time

Salary : Up to £80,000 DOE

This role is perfect for:

• an experienced Financial Controller who still enjoys being hands-on; or
• an exceptional Finance Manager / Management Accountant ready to step up take broader ownership.

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, founder-led beauty and personal care brand looking for a hands-on Financial Controller / Finance Manager.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit above the numbers.

You’ll be close to the detail - owning management accounts and month-end, reviewing stock and product costs, reconciling e-commerce channels, managing cashflow and VAT, improving systems and controls, and working directly with the founders and operational teams.

What you’ll own:

• Full monthly management accounts and month-end close
• P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and variance analysis
• Stock, inventory, COGS and gross-margin accounting
• Product costing, manufacturing costs and BOM costing
• Landed costs , including freight, duty and import charges
• Reconciliation of Amazon, TikTok Shop and other e-commerce channels
• Cashflow forecasting and working capital management
• UK and international VAT, including hands-on Import VAT, PVA and C79
• Intercompany accounting across multiple international entities
• Payroll oversight and reconciliations
• Budgets, forecasts and scenario planning
• Improving finance, stock, inventory and manufacturing processes
• Commercial analysis around pricing, margin, cost control and profitability

What we’re looking for:

• Strong hands-on Sage 50 Accounts experience - essential
• Hands-on experience with Import VAT / PVA / C79
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Strong experience producing full monthly management accounts
• Proven ownership of the month-end close
• Experience in a stock / inventory / product-led business
• Strong understanding of COGS, gross margin and product profitability
• Experience with cashflow and working capital
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable operating across both financial control and operational finance
