Financial Controller

Anderson Knight are delighted to be recruiting a Financial Controller/Site Finance Lead for our Scottish based client. As the senior finance person on site, you will be the trusted business partner to the Site Director. You will oversee the full site P&L, with a clear focus on optimising EBITDA, stock and cash. The role is hands on and varied, and its scope can grow as far as you want to take it. Senior, visible role on a site leadership team with full P&L oversight. Scope to shape the role and develop within the wider group.

Responsibilities

• Act as finance business partner to the Site Lead and leadership team, giving clear insight and constructive challenge, and working with colleagues at every level from shop floor to senior management
• Work with budget holders to manage, control and challenge spend, both direct and overhead
• Support continuous improvement through robust analysis and validation of efficiency and cost-saving initiatives
• Produce accurate daily variance reporting, weekly P&L and monthly management information
• Own the site's quarterly reforecasts, annual budget and standard setting, working closely with the group FP&A team
• Lead the weekly and monthly capture of risks and opportunities
• Act as the first gatekeeper for capital investment, supporting capex appraisals and tracking spend and benefits against business cases
• Contribute to product portfolio decisions through the S&OP process
• Support weekly and monthly payroll with accuracy and strong controls
• Ensure compliance with group internal controls and keep balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard
• Manage one direct report and deputise for the Operations Finance Controller when required
• Champion process standardisation, automation and AI initiatives

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a reasonable length of post qualified experience

Required Skills

• Manufacturing experience, with a good understanding of the demands of daily variance and weekly P&L reporting
• Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with credibility from the shop floor to the site lead
• Experience of month-end reporting, regular forecasts and annual budgets
